The end is nigh…..

Karren Dale-Mid point statement

It appears I should be writing my final statement, not my mid point.  Timewise that is.  I have struggled with owning my idea and making it happen.  I have trialled many materials to make my puzzle.  I initially wanted my piece to reflect native new zealand flora and fauna.  I worked with calico material, interfacing and collage from paper.  The stiffness is either too much, not enough.  The piece needs to be moveable.  I overwork the material.  It becomes dirty and I don’t enjoy it anymore.  Kelly suggests using black.  I must be tired, the obvious has eluded me.  Black it is!  I change the theme of my puzzle.  I now want it to reflect New Zealand bogan culture.  A theme close to my heart and on travels through Australia, I see we have a correlation here.  Materials to use….Lace?  Velvet?  Faux leather?  Patchs?….Sayings or staements……Bogan slang?  Heavy metal lyrics?….With not even a week to go I need to make.  I have had technical difficulties as this year I am subletting, all of me lives in the south island and the pokey house and room I reside within here in wellinton does not have internet access.  Today just logging in at school took almost 5 minutes so my frustrations with participating in the blog are purely technical mishapp happenings.  I hope to participate more this week as I have figured out access now!  So here goes……….

Karren Dale-beginning statement

My material is metal puzzle pieces.  I likt the sound they make.  To make something puzzling?  Can I do that?

PUZZLE

The text I receive is numbers written.  I feel this gives me a lot of scope.  My initial thought for the project is for the children’s puzzle game called the fortune teller.  It consists of folded paper….pick a colour…pick a number…..what would the text inside be?

Rhymes?

Statements?

Sayings of inspiration?

Haiku?

hmmm………
